Broken License in Virtual Machine - HyperV

Broken License in Virtual Machine - HyperV.

Problem:

When using a virtual machine environment, after a reboot of the machine, the licenses become non-functional.

Licenses no longer work after HyperV Environment has been turned off and the virtual environment rebooted.

SOLUTION :

To help solve this problem, firstly the status of the license must be established.  This can be found by running the License Utility (or Network License Utility if the license is a network license) and then right-clicking on the title bar of the dialog and choosing the Advanced Details option.  In the window that loads, check the Status.  If it shows BROKEN HOST, this means that the license has become corrupted and most likely a remote session with the Opcenter APS Support Team will be needed to reset the license.

The problem occurs because the IP and MAC address has changed due to the turning off of HyperV Environment.  If licenses are to be installed in a virtual environment, a static IP and MAC address must be specified to stop this from happening.
